Many of our passionate recyclers often take charge of their community, school, retirement village or community group and collect from friends and family. They take responsibility for the lids being washed, dried and sorted before delivering them to our ACT Hub. We call them Town Coordinators.
Thank you for joining the Lids4Kids Town Coordinator team! Your efforts in collecting lids and other recyclables from your community are
incredibly valuable to us. Before you start, we want to make sure you understand the guidelines that help keep our program running smoothly.
We value your contribution immensely and are here to support you. Being a Town Coordinator is a wonderful way to connect with your community. We want you to succeed in your passion for recycling and after years of experience we have developed a set of guidelines that we now, if you follow, will keep you happily rescuing lids for years.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You are a vital part of our mission, and we want you to feel supported and appreciated every step of the way.
As a Town Coordinator you agree to the following:
• Have current membership.
• To collect lids only from friends and family.
• Guarantee lids are delivered to us completely clean and dry and sorted by colour/polymer.
• Arrange transport/shipping of lids to the ACT Hub at your own/groups expense.
• Agree to pay all recycling fees charged by Lids4Kids if these conditions are not met, (terms and conditions are listed below).
We strongly advise you to:
• Know your limits! Australians are passionate recyclers and many Town Coordinators quickly become overwhelmed by accepting more lids than they can handle.
Lids4Kids DOES NOT PICK UP/COLLECT LIDS.
We have neither the funds nor personnel to offer help if you cannot get your lids to us. Please plan ahead and know when to stop collecting.
• Be confident in refusing to accept lids and redirecting people to the other options now available on our website. Don’t feel guilty for saying no.
• Feel confident to refuse dirty lids. You are NOT required to do the washing yourself. Teach the people who give lids to you to give them to you in perfect condition to lessen your workload.
• To never share your personal details publicly on Facebook or other social media.
• Never offer to accept lids from strangers nor invite strangers to drop donations to your home.
• Not to advertise schools, residences or businesses caring for children or vulnerable adults as drop off locations.
