Schools/Scouts Hands-on Workshop

Service Description

Engage in this hands-on workshop identifying, sorting, and processing lids. Learn why and how we recycle plastic bottles tops into sustainable products. Bring in your lids and get hands-on in our Community Recycling Hub. In small groups your students will get hand- on in a variety of activities and learning experiences that demonstrate the recycling process from lids to new product ready for retail. Y Your visit may* include -Presentation and brainstorming session -Donation sorting -Colour sorting lids -Polymer sorting education -Lids Reuse activties/craft -Workshop and Hub tour including seeing recycling equipment in action. -Mosaic or Hub decoration activities -Transformation of plastics into new products (hot workshop when available) *We are a volunteer organisation and so not all activities can be guaranteed on any given day. We DO GUARANTEE that your students will come away inspired to save the planet and have had many hands on learning experiences during their visit. 90 minute session designed by an experienced education and run by Tim Miller our dynamic and engaging Founder. Minimum of 15 students per session with a 1:11 ratio adult:child (ages 7-18). For other age groups please contact us act@lids4kids.org.au to discuss. NOTE: 2 class groups is comfortable, if your school needs to accommodate a large group due to buses please talk to us. We are a fully inclusive charity and all access facility with ramp and disabled toilets. We also have a courtyard with some seating for snack time or to wait for buses.
